Avalanches will be unlikely on Sunday. Watch for isolated pockets of instability in wind-drifted snow at upper elevations. Continue to be aware of non-avalanche hazards like thin coverage over trees and rocks. 

We haven't had any reports of avalanche activity related to the new snow and wind. Although I observed moderate winds out of the south and southwest moving snow around a little bit today, I wasn't seeing plumes along the ridgetops (as Ryan observed on Friday), significant wind loading, or other signs of instability that warrant a wind slab avalanche problem. I did find wind-deposited snow 6-8" deep that made for great turns...though I hit an ice chunk (or two) and one rock. It was a good reminder that the new snow may have just covered up some previously exposed hazards.

With minimal new snow and light winds expected on Sunday, I anticipate the avalanche hazard to be low. However, if you venture up into the high peaks, check the depth of wind-deposited snow and look for signs of instability before committing to steep or extreme terrain.
