Avalanches large enough to bury or injure a rider will be unlikely on Wednesday.  This doesn't mean that instabilities will be nonexistent.  Small Wet Loose instabilities may linger into the morning hours at lower elevation riding below 6000 ft., and cornices will remain weak until the snow is able to refreeze.  Always make it a habit to use safe travel techniques.

During the warm sunny weather there were Wet Loose avalanches as well as cornice failures.  Driving west on Highway 20 this morning I could see several large Wet Loose avalanches near the Thayer Glacier on North Sister.  At Tam Rim I observed a recent cornice fall.  All of these instabilities associated with melting snow will become a thing of the past as cold weather moves into the region overnight and on Wednesday.  We won't get enough new snow on Wednseday to create new avalanche problems.  That could change into Thursday after several inches of snow has fallen and small wind slabs may begin to form.
