Avalanche Summary

Natural and human-triggered storm snow avalanches have been observed in the Alpine and upper Treeline elevations. Notably on Nov 12, a sz 2.5 slab avalanche, ~1m deep, was triggered from 100m away while a group approached the final headwall to Video Peak.

Snowpack Summary

Early season snow depths range from 40-60cm at Treeline to ~80-100cm in the Alpine. A supportive crust below 1750m allows travelers to stay near the surface. Above that elevation, expect to sink further into the young snowpack, especially on rocky slopes where sugary snow is found.
