Regions: Little Yoho.

Considerably more snow fell in the Yoho area during this storm cycle. Avoid large objectives for a while.

Ice climbers should avoid overhead hazard and tight gullies.

Weather Forecast

Moderate snow and cool temperatures are forecast.

Snowpack Summary

Up to 50 cm of new snow has fallen at treeline during this storm cycle. The new snow is not bonding well to the old snow giving easy test results at the interface. Moderate winds have created windslabs in lee areas. Deeper facetted areas may fail in a larger fashion. Below treeline, facets can be bottomless and pose a hazard in gullied terrain.

Avalanche Summary

No new activity reported today. Visibility was poor.
