In high Alpine regions only a little snow is lying. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on very steep shady slopes at high altitude and in the vicinity of peaks. Weak layers exist in the old snowpack especially on north, northeast and northwest facing slopes. Weak layers in the old snowpack can be released in isolated cases and mostly by large additional loads in high Alpine regions.
In all regions in all altitude zones only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year. On south, southeast and southwest facing slopes no snow is lying. North, northeast and northwest facing slopes as well as shady slopes: The snowpack is stable and its surface has a crust.
