Wind slabs and weakly bonded old snow require caution.

The fresh wind slabs are mostly small and can only be released in isolated cases. They are to be found in particular on north and east facing slopes and in the high Alpine regions. Weak layers in the upper part of the snowpack can be released in isolated cases by people. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and in the vicinity of peaks. In isolated cases the avalanches are medium-sized. As the moisture increases gliding avalanches and moist snow slides are possible below approximately 2200 m.

In particular in the northernmost part of Aran up to 5 cm of snow will fall in the next few hours above approximately 2200 m. The wind will be light to moderate. The snowpack will become moist below approximately 2200 m. At intermediate altitudes there are 40 to 90 cm of snow, and even more in some localities. In particular above the tree line snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. In all regions less snow than usual is lying.
