Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will remain well bonded and stable throughout, soften through the day but remain firm on shaded Northerly facing slopes. Glide cracks will continue to widen, these will mostly affect sun exposed slopes above 900 metres. Remaining cornices on a multitude of aspects will be unstable. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Forecast Weather Influences: Dry throughout the forecast period, clear overnight, a sunny morning, some cloud developing through the afternoon. Light winds will vary between Westerly and Northerly. It will be freezing at around summit levels. Observed Weather Influences: A warm sunny day with light to moderate Westerly winds. Freezing at glen level first thing this morning, plus 7 degrees C recorded at 1000 metres by midday. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is well bonded and stable throughout. Soft and thawing on sun exposed slopes, firm on shaded Northerly aspects. Remaining cornices are unstable, and overhang a multitude of aspects. Glide cracks continue to widen, these are mostly affecting sun exposed slopes above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
