LO for 9.2 Accumulations of windslab will develop above 900m on N, NE, E, and SE aspects. Moderate Hazard.

Forecast Snow Stability: Unstable windslab will develop in wind sheltered areas. Greatest accumulations will be on North through East to South-East aspects above 900 metres. Areas mostly affected will be corrie rims and gully tops. Windward slopes will become hard and scoured. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Strong to very strong South-West winds with snow showers will persist throughout the forecast period. The freezing level will lower from 600 metres to 400 metres overnight. Observed Weather Influences: Strong to very strong South-West winds. Occasional snow showers. Freezing level around 800 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The existing snowpack is re-freezing and gaining stability in the cooler temperatures. Isolated accumulations of windslab have developed on North to East aspects, above 950 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
