Forecast Snow Stability: Little change is expected to the snowpack. It will remain firm and well bonded in all locations. Surface layers will be frozen and icy which could lead to serious consequences on steep ground in the event of a slip. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight, another frost in the glens, freezing level will be around 500 metres. A dry, clear day with sunny spells with the freezing level rising to around 800 metres. Moderate Westerly winds veering, becoming Northerly and easing through the day. Observed Weather Influences: Overnight, cooler temperatures gave a slight frost in the glens. Today was dry, a spring like day with light to moderate North-Westerly winds. The freezing level was around 750 metres.
ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is well bonded and stable, with firm, icy conditions present on all aspects above 700 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
