Forecast Snow Stability: Fresh unstable windslab will be deposited in wind-sheltered areas. Greatest accumulations will be on South-East to South-West aspects above 800 metres, with West aspects also affected. Accumulations gaining depth are not expected to be extensive. Fragile cornices will build above these aspects. The old snowpack will refreeze and be stable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Winds are expected to be very strong mainly North-North-Easterly overnight, strong mainly Northerly during the day. Precipitation is expected throughout the period, falling as snow above around 600 metres during the evening, above 200 metres around dawn and above 400 metres during the day. The freezing level will rise to around 500 metres during the day. Observed Weather Influences: After a mainly dry morning there were persistent showers during the afternoon falling as snow above around 900 metres. Winds were moderate to strong mainly South-Westerly. The freezing level was around 950 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The old snowpack is generally well bonded and stable throughout. Some new windslab is being deposited in wind-sheltered areas, mainly on North to East aspects above 950 metres, but accumulations had not become extensive or deep. The avalanche hazard is Low.
