Chic-Choc Mountains.
At present, the main hazards in the mountains are the many obstacles on the ground that are not yet completely covered with snow (rocks, stumps, shrubs, streams). If you're exploring alpine areas in search of snow-covered couloirs, keep an eye out for isolated wind slabs that may have formed.
No new avalanches observed or reported.

At mid-mountain, at around 650 m in areas sheltered from the wind, 50 to 85 cm of snow of increasing density (lighter on the surface and progressively denser) rest on a crust of ice formed in mid-December. The average snow cover reaches 100 cm in the north and east of the area, compared with 65 cm in the south.
In alpine areas and exposed relief close to the treeline, snow distribution remains uneven. Below the treeline, the snow is better for gliding, but is often insufficient to fully cover obstacles on the ground (stumps, rocks, shrubs, streams).

Passage of a weak trough that could leave a few flakes on the Chic-Chocs
Tuesday evening and night: Light snow, 2 to 4 cm. North wind, 5 to 15 km/h. Minimum -12C.
Wednesday: Cloudy, light snow. Wind northwest, 10 to 20 km/h. High -10C.
Thursday: Alternating sun and cloud. Weak southerly wind. Maximum -11C.
Friday: Mixture of sun and clouds. Light southerly wind. Maximum -12C.
