Glacier.
A widespread surface crust is making travel challenging across most terrain.
Plan accordingly, use caution, and allow extra time for your descent.
Normally this is a busy part of the bulletin...however without any significant weather, snowfall, or winds there has been no natural or rider triggered avalanche activity in the last few days in the park.
Neighbours are reporting pin wheeling off of steep, rocky, solar aspects and the occasional natural cornice release.
Surface hoar is currently developing on the snow surface, with the largest crystals observed at treeline. A highly variable surface crust is present on most aspects and elevations. The crust is generally more supportive on solar aspects, but weakening/faceting on polar aspects.
The mid and lower snowpacks are generally well settled and strong. A thin surface hoar layer, down approximately 1 m below the surface, has shown no recent reactivity and continues to break down.
The stagnant high pressure is slowly eroding away this week, allowing some snow in the forecast by the end of the week.
