Regions

Little Yoho.

Not as much snow coverage as previous winters. Skiing is still VERY rugged, and almost not do-able. We will update the bulletin and bring in the daily danger ratings as soon as it starts to snow significantly. Forecasting teams are monitoring daily.

Weather Forecast

The forecast shows warming from Nov 1 through Nov 5, with the alpine near 0 and some of the lower valleys up to 6 deg. After-which, the temps will drop into the seasonal range. Some snow is expected on Nov 6, roughly 5cm. Nov 9 shows another small pulse of precipitation . Otherwise no major weather inputs are expected over the next 10 days.

Snowpack Summary

Very much early season and a slow start. Roughly 20cm at 2000m increasing to 40-50cm in the alpine. Reports of a supportive crust near ground that provided enough support for skiing above TL at Bow Summit Oct 29. The presence of wind slabs is unknown in the alpine, but should be anticipated.

Avalanche Summary

Nothing recent. Some small avalanches were reported running our of very steep terrain on Oct 29th. No reports or observations since.
