Highlights

The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE today. New snow and strong southwesterly winds have resulted in soft slabs up to a foot in depth on a variety of aspects at mid and upper elevations. These slabs lie on low density snow and crusts on Southerly slopes aspects and low density snow and surface hoar on other aspects. These slabs will be sensitive today and could be triggered upon approach. The potential exists for these slabs to pull out deep hard slabs on slopes with Northerly aspects. Beware of steep gullies and terrain traps at all elevations.
