Avalanche Summary

You can trigger an avalanche in wind-drifted snow on the leeward side of a ridgeline. If the snow feels hard and hollow or you notice cracking in the snow as you travel across it, you should consider avoiding traveling on nearby slopes steeper than around 35 degrees.
