Avalanche Summary

Look for rounded pillows of firm snow in steep terrain. Deeper drifts are found near ridgelines, vegetation breaks, and along gullies. On aspects where you observe cracking and collapsing or find drum like hollow snow, avoid steep slopes. You can find safer travel on slopes sheltered from the wind at lower elevations.

Clear, sunny skies may cause some sluffing on steep, rocky south-facing terrain, which could have enough mass to knock you over.
