Overnight lows hovered near freezing at the high elevation, and temporarily increased stability. Daily warming and sunshine will continue to melt the upper snowpack resulting in wet, loose surface slides, along with the possibility of deeper wet slabs. These slides may be started by backcountry travelers, snow falling off cliff areas, or cornice collapses. Avoid steep ravines and road cuts where small wet slides can be dangerous.

During the night and into Thursday, winds should increase to near 30 mph out of the Southwest. Below freezing overnight temperatures will temporarily lead to a stabilizing trend at the mid and upper elevation. The hazard will raise proportional to the amount of heat and sun absorbed by the snowpack during the day. Any extended periods of sunshine this time of year can rapidly warm the upper snowpack and wet, loose slides can result. These slides may be started by backcountry travelers, snow falling off cliff areas, or cornice collapses.
