Highlights

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. Surface slabs up to 18 inches in depth formed by recent snow and wind lie upon a snowpack comprised primarily of faceted snow. These slabs could be triggered by snowmobiles and possibly by skiers or boarders on steep wind loaded slopes today and once triggered are likely to pull out deeper layers of snow. Yesterday a slide was triggered near Leidy Lake and on Friday and Thursday several hard and soft slabs were triggered on various aspects of Angle Mountain.
