Highlights

Generally, conditions are stable. It may still be possible to trigger loose snow avalanches on steep slopes where the snow is very wet. If the sun comes out, small avalanches may occur in sun-exposed terrain. On north-facing slopes at higher elevations, it may still be possible to trigger slab avalanches in wind-drifted snow.

Avalanche Activity

Generally, conditions are stable. It may still be possible to trigger loose snow avalanches on steep slopes where the snow is very wet. If the sun comes out, small avalanches may occur in sun-exposed terrain. On north-facing slopes at higher elevations, it may still be possible to trigger slab avalanches in wind-drifted snow.

Snowpack Structure

Tendency

New snow in the mountains will create some fresh wind slabs in sheltered areas, especially facing east. Light winds will limit the size of these slabs, but it may still be possible to trigger avalanches in them. In lower elevations, precipitation will fall as rain, and here it may be easy to trigger wet avalanches in steep slopes.
