At high altitude a high avalanche danger will persist.

Over a wide area 40 to 60 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, fell on Tuesday above approximately 2300 m. Above approximately 2300 m and on very steep slopes more large to very large natural avalanches are possible as a consequence of the new snow. Avalanches can also be triggered in the old snowpack, especially on steep northwest, north and northeast facing slopes. As before the avalanches can reach an unusually long way from high-altitude starting zones. Below approximately 2500 m: Numerous moist and wet avalanches are to be expected as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation. The conditions are dangerous for backcountry touring.

As a consequence of new snow and a strong easterly wind, sometimes deep wind slabs formed at high altitude. Individual weak layers exist in the old snowpack on steep shady slopes. Below approximately 2600 m: The sleet gave rise to significant moistening of the snowpack. The covering of new snow is wet.

The weather conditions will facilitate a gradual strengthening of the snowpack in particular at intermediate altitudes.
