Avalanche Activity

Warm temperatures and heavy rain increase the danger of wet loose avalanches in steep, high alpine terrain. Cornices may weaken and break, and glide avalanches are possible, but unpredictable by nature. The danger is at is highest when the rain is most intense.

Tendency

In steep terrain, wet loose snow avalanches may be easy to trigger in some areas. Fresh, unstable wind slabs may also form on the highest peaks. Otherwise, conditions are generally stable.
