Avalanche Activity

New snow and wind slabs above the tree line.

Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on steep slopes at high altitude, also on steep shady slopes in areas close to the tree line. The various wind slabs have bonded poorly with the old snowpack. The avalanche prone locations are clearly recognisable to the trained eye.

Snowpack Structure

In some localities 5 to 15 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall above approximately 1500 m. The various wind slabs have bonded poorly with the old snowpack. In particular above the tree line snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Below the tree line hardly any snow is lying.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will persist.
