The backcountry touring conditions are mostly favourable.

In some localities up to 10 cm of snow, but less in some localities, fell in the last few days above approximately 2000 m. The new snow is lying on top of a quite favourable old snowpack. As a consequence of solar radiation individual small moist and wet avalanches are possible. This applies in particular on extremely steep sunny slopes, as well as in steep rocky terrain. In particular in the regions of the north that are exposed to the foehn wind the avalanche prone locations are a little more prevalent and the danger is greater. Even a small snow slide can sweep people along and give rise to falls. Weak layers in the old snowpack can be released in isolated cases and mostly by large additional loads especially at elevated altitudes. This applies in particular on extremely steep shady slopes above approximately 2700 m.

5 to 15 cm of snow fell on Tuesday above approximately 1600 m. Regions of the north that are exposed to the foehn wind 2 to 5 cm of snow fell on Thursday above approximately 1800 m. The old snowpack is well consolidated and its surface consists of loosely bonded snow lying on a melt-freeze crust that is strong in many cases. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise from the middle of the day to gradual moistening of the snowpack in particular on steep sunny slopes at intermediate altitudes. Intermediate and high altitudes: Individual weak layers exist in the snowpack especially on northwest, north and northeast facing slopes. In particular in the vicinity of peaks a little snow is lying.
