Forecast Snow Stability: The existing snowpack will remain well bonded and stable. Localised deposits of moderately bonded windslab will develop through the day. Steep wind sheltered locations on North to East aspects above 750 metres will be most affected. These deposits will generally be shallow and often overlie bare ground. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Rain at all levels overnight will turn to snow on the summits from around dawn, falling as snow above around 500 metres by the end of the afternoon as the freezing level falls. Very strong South-westerly winds overnight will ease very slightly during the day. Observed Weather Influences: Overnight rain turned to snow showers above around 700 metres which eased to give a mostly drier period in the middle of the day and further snow showers towards the end of the afternoon. Very strong Westerly winds throughout the period. ObservedSnowStability: The existing patchy snow cover remains well bonded and stable. A superficial covering of new snow is present above around 750 metres, with slightly greater amounts on the more inland hills than the coastal hills. The avalanche hazard is Low.
