Forecast Snow Stability: Localised moderately to weakly bond windslab will be present in wind sheltered locations on North-East to South-East aspects above 800 metres. Gully tops and corrie rims above 950 metres will be most affected. Moderately bonded deposits will be present on North and some South aspects above 800 metres. Small fragile cornices will be present. Many areas will have no snow, shallow snow or well bonded old snow. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: Light snow showers overnight above 600 metres will become intermittent by the afternoon, with snow only settling above 850 metres. Strong North-North-Westerly winds at 900 metres, with gale force winds over the highest summits. Freezing level slowly rising from 600 metres to reach 900 metres by the end of the afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: Snowfall above 600 metres during the morning, turned to snow showers above 700 metres around mid-day. Gale force South-South-Westerly winds, veered Westerly by early afternoon and increased to storm force over the higher summits. The freezing level briefly rose to around 1000 metres at midday, quickly lowering back down to 800 metres during the afternoon. ObservedSnowStability: Moderately to weakly bonded windslab has formed in wind sheltered locations on North through East to South-East aspects above 950 metres. Moderately bonded accumulations are present below this altitude and above 800 metres. Avalanche activity observed and another set of debris noted, on a Northerly aspect with a starting zone around 1030 metres. Many areas have either shallow, scoured or well bonded snow. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
