Forecast Snow Stability: The existing snowpack will remain hard, icy and stable. There will be deposits of windslab on North-West through North to East aspects above 1100 metres. However, these areas will be shallow, limited in size, and generally avoidable. The avalanche hazard will be Low
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: It will remain dry but with strengthening Southerly winds. The freezing level will rise to around 1000 metres. Observed Weather Influences: After a clear frosty night it was a sunny day with the freezing level rising to about 800 metres during the day. There was a breeze from the South-West. ObservedSnowStability: The old and previously wet snowpack has frozen and consolidated. It is hard, icy and stable throughout. There was a small amount of soft fresh snow, with some deposits of windslab on North to East aspects above 1100 metres. However, these deposits were shallow and generally avoidable. The avalanche hazard is Low
