Avalanche hazards will be limited to small slides at the higher elevations. These slides could be small pockets of shallow wind slab up to a foot in depth or shallow, wet slides involving the new snow. Small slides can be dangerous in cliff areas, very steep couloirs, on hanging snowfields and in other types of extreme terrain.

It will continue to be dry with mostly sunny skies. In the mountains temperatures will drop into the teens and 20’s overnight and rise into the 30’s and 40’s during the day. Winds will be from the east at 5 to 10 miles per hour.An increase in the wet snow avalanche hazard during the warmest portion of the day is to be expected. At the highest elevations isolated pockets of shallow wind slab up to a foot in depth are a potential hazard for skiers or riders who venture into cliff areas and other extreme terrain features. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be low.
