Until the temperature falls more mostly small moist and wet avalanches are possible.
The moist fresh snow of last week as well as the mostly small wind slabs represent the main danger. Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be reduced in some case. Below approximately 2400 m small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized moist and wet avalanches are possible. As the temperature drops there will be a gradual decrease in the danger of moist and wet avalanches as the day progresses. In the last few days wind slabs formed in particular adjacent to ridgelines in all aspects. The wind slabs of the last few days can still be released above approximately 2400 m. This applies in particular at their margins.
In particular at higher altitudes snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. The surface of the snowpack will only just freeze. In its middle, the snowpack is faceted, especially on steep shady slopes. On steep sunny slopes below approximately 2600 m only a little snow is lying.
Gradual decrease in avalanche danger as the temperature drops.
