Forecast Snow Stability: The existing snowpack will continue to gradually consolidate. However, instabilities will remain in steep sheltered locations on North through East to South-East aspects above 900 metres. Isolated deposits of fresh unstable windslab will be present on North-West to North-East aspects above 1000 metres. These deposits will be shallow and mostly affect gully tops and coire rims. Elsewhere the snowpack will be generally stable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: A mainly dry but cloudy day, some light showers towards the end of the afternoon, falling as snow above 900 metres. Southerly winds will be very strong overnight, decreasing to moderate by morning and gradually increasing again during the day. The freezing level will be around 900 metres. Observed Weather Influences: A mainly dry overcast day with occasional showers which fell as snow above 1000 metres. Very strong Southerly winds. The freezing level was around 1000 metres.
