Forecast Snow Stability: The remaining patchy older snow will be firm and stable. There will be a redistribution of snow with windslab developing on North-East through East to South aspects at first. As the wind backs instabilities will begin to affect North to East aspects above 800 metres. These windslab instabilities will affect steeper wind sheltered terrain such as coire rims, the tops of gullies and ridge flanks. There will be some scouring on wind exposed slopes. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: There will be storm force West-North-West winds at first becoming North-West overnight reducing in strength becoming strong West-South-West. Moderate snow showers are expects with heavier showers further inland. The Freezing level will lower to around 200 metres and gradually rise tomorrow to around 800 metres. Observed Weather Influences: There were light snow showers overnight and it has been a generally dry morning. Winds were fresh South-Westerly. The freezing level was around 800 meters. ObservedSnowStability: There has been a dusting of new snow with some very light, shallow drifting onto North-West to North-East aspects above 850 metres. The remaining very patchy old snowpack is refrozen and firm. The avalanche hazard is Low.
