Forecast Snow Stability: Above 1000 metres the snowpack will freeze and consolidate. Below this level it will continue to slowly thaw. Stability will be good in all cases. Any fresh accumulations will be negligible The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: A change in the weather is expected with conditions becoming colder than of late. Through the day the freezing level will drop to around 1000 metres. It will be cloudy with the chance of a very light snow shower. Moderate winds will be from the North-East. Observed Weather Influences: A dry and sunny day with light winds. Freezing level above the summits. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack froze and consolidated overnight. Through the day it softened in locations exposed to the sunshine, but tended to remain firm in higher shady locations. Stability is good throughout. The avalanche hazard is Low.
