Forecast Snow Stability: The existing snowpack will continue to consolidate and will become mostly stable in all areas. Some new but localised accumulations of unstable windslab will develop from midday on mostly North-West to North-Easterly aspects above 1000m. Surface instabilities also likely here in steep locations during this period. Gully tops and coire rims most affected. Large Cornices, especially overhanging NW aspects may weaken and collapse. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate

Forecast Weather Influences: Dry overnight with some light snow showers in the day becoming rain, sleet and snow at summit levels, rain below from around midday. Freezing level overnight will be around 500 metres but will rise quickly to above summit levels around midday. Winds strong Westerly overnight and during the morning before backing generally Southerly and increasing to Gale force. Observed Weather Influences: Occasional clouds on the tops, but windy with a strong South-Westerly wind. Mostly no precipitation observed but some occasional light snowshowers. A cold day with the freezing level around 600 metres. ObservedSnowStability: In general the snowpack is mostly well consolidated, firm and stable. Some residual instabilities remain however but these are confined to very steep places, mostly above 1000m where deeper, moderately well bonded windslab lies. Places most affected are gully tops, Coire rims and other high wind sheltered locations on Northerly to Easterly aspects. Elsewhere the snowpack is mostly stable. Large Cornices overhang NW aspects. The avalanche hazard is Moderate
