Forecast Snow Stability: Localised accumulations of unstable windslab will continue to build on existing deposits on mainly North-West through North to South-East aspects above 900 meters. Most affected places will be where it gains depth in gully tops, corrie rims and leeward sides of ridge crests. Fragile cornices will also build on the same aspects. On other aspects and at lower elevations the fresh snow cover is shallow and lies on a firm stable snowpack or bare ground. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate

Forecast Weather Influences: Fresh South-West winds backing South-Easterly and increasing to gale force overnight. During the day the wind will lessen and veer becoming South-Westerly. A dry evening followed by increasing snow showers from the early hours becoming more persistent snow during the afternoon. The freezing level is expected to be around 500 meters. Observed Weather Influences: A dry day with light Westerly winds. The freezing level rose to around 800 meters. ObservedSnowStability: A dusting of fresh snow above 600 meters on all aspects. Localised accumulations of moderately bonded windslab are present on North to South-East aspects above 900 meters. Areas most affected are wind sheltered locations where the snow has gained depth such as gully tops, corrie rims and the leeward side of ridge crests. New fragile Cornices noted on these same aspects. On other aspects and below 900 meters the fresh snow is generally lying on bare ground. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
