Forecast Snow Stability: Overnight, wet snow instabilities will be present on steep North-East, East and South-East aspects above 1000m. During Thursday morning the snowpack will quickly start to stabilise and thaw at all levels. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate
Forecast Weather Influences: A significant thaw is expected with rain at all levels. South-Westerly gales are also expected Observed Weather Influences: There has been some light snow showers above 600m with moderate strength Westerly winds. ObservedSnowStability: Areas of windslab are present in areas sheltered from the Westerly winds. Greatest accumulations are on slopes and gullies with a North-East, East and South-East aspect above 950m.Elsewhere the snowpack is generally stable. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
