Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will be moist and generally stable in all locations. The snowpack will thaw at all levels and will become further depleted. Greatest accumulations will be above 800m on North through East to South-East aspects. Fragile cornices will be prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Forecast Weather Influences: Wet conditions are forecast, with the freezing level remaining above the summits. West-South-West winds will veer to become Westerly in the early hours. Winds initially storm force, easing gradually to strong throughout the day. Observed Weather Influences: A mild and wet day. Early in morning, the freezing level rose to above the summits. Strong South-Westerly winds with more powerful gusts. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is moist and thawing at all levels. Wet snow instabilities, found primarily on North through East to South-East aspects above 850m, are steadily stabilising. Cornices are fragile and prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
