Forecast Snow Stability: Localised, shallow accumulations of unstable windslab will develop on wind sheltered locations above 900 metres. Areas most affected will be gully tops and coire rims on North to East aspects. Elsewhere the snowpack will be hard, icy and generally stable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: Storm force South-Westerly winds will ease slightly during the day. The freezing level will be around 800 metres. Snow showers overnight will ease by mid morning, with no further precipitation expected. Observed Weather Influences: It was dry overnight and during the morning followed by light rain during the afternoon. South-Westerly winds gained strength through the day. After a frosty night, the freezing level rose steadily above the highest summits. ObservedSnowStability: Overnight the snowpack consolidated at all levels becoming hard, icy and generally stable. As the freezing level rose the snowpack softened and became moist throughout but remained generally stable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
