Highlights

The avalanche hazard is MODERATE this morning, and will increase to CONSIDERABLE today as temperatures quickly rise into the forties and the weak surface crust formed at all elevations overnight will rapidly soften. The potential for wet loose and wet slab avalanches will increase during the day on steep snow covered slopes as heating occurs. Stay out of runout zones and gullies in the afternoon. The potential for cornices to collapse will also increase on the higher peaks, which may trigger larger avalanches.
