Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is LOW in the early morning hours and will rise to MODERATE as the day warms. Shallow soft surface slabs lie upon a weak faceted snowpack. Yesterday a snowmobiler triggered a wet surface slab that stepped down to the ground on an east aspect of East Leidy Mountain at 10 AM at an elevation of 9,800 feet. Similar events and loose wet slides are possible today especially on steep sunlit aspects underlain by a weak shallow snowpack.
