You can trigger an avalanche in the snow from last week's storm that might break large enough to bury you. The most dangerous slopes are northerly and easterly slopes where the snowpack still needs more time to adjust to the new snow. You can find safer travel options by sticking to sunny slopes with a hard, supportable crust on the snow surface or stick to slopes less than about 35 degrees.
