Highlights
At the mid and upper elevations periods of heavy snowfall and strong west winds will increase the hazard as the day progresses. Pockets of new soft surface slab up to 18 inches in depth will form on leeward aspects. These new slabs could be triggered by humans who venture into steep avalanche terrain with fresh deposits of wind blown snow. Avalanches are unlikely at the lower elevation.
