The early season snowpack is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely except on very steep, upper elevation slopes where drifted snow lies upon crusty old snow surfaces. In these areas, backcountry travelers might be able to trigger an isolated pocket of wind slab 6 to 12 inches in depth. Avalanches are unlikely at the mid elevations and the slopes are bare below 7,500 feet.

Light snow showers are expected to continue overnight and into Saturday with a few more inches of new snow in the next 24 hours. Overnight lows in the mountains will drop to near 10 before climbing back to close to 20 during the day. Northwesterly ridgetop winds will range from 15 to 25 miles per hour.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW on Saturday. Mostly stable snow exists and avalanches are unlikely except in very steep avalanche starting zones above 9,000 feet where backcountry travelers might be able to trigger isolated pockets of surface slab six to 12 inches in depth.
