Dangerous unstable hard and soft slabs exist on a variety of aspects at the upper elevations and on steep shaded aspects at the mid elevations. These slabs are two to four feet deep and lie upon a weak base of faceted snow. Conservative decision making is essential as these slabs may fail with one persons presence or may require larger triggers or multiple tracks to initiate.

Some very light snow is expected Saturday as Northwest flow brings limited moisture to the area with highs in the twenties expected. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be CONSIDERABLE at the upper elevations (9,000 to 10,500 feet) of the Teton area and MODERATE at the mid elevations of the Teton area and above an elevation of 8,000 feet in the Greys River/ Southwest Trails and Togwotee Pass/ Continental Divide Trails area. In these areas riders and skiers will have the potential to trigger sensitive surface slabs two to four feet in depth in avalanche terrain where old weak snow surfaces persist.
