You might trigger a small avalanche in recently wind-drifted snow and there's an outside chance once in motion an avalanche could break more deeply growing large in size. Use caution around textured, rounded pillows of snow. Before triggering one of these slides, you may not see any unstable snow, like cracking or collapsing. Multiple people could ride a slope before you trigger a large avalanche; these avalanches might break wider and run further than anticipated. You can stick to lower-angled terrain to help reduce your avalanche risk.
