Avalanche Activity

In the Fatras and the eastern part of the Low Tatras there is a low avalanche danger, i.e. 1.degree from the 5-part international scale. The alternation of daytime plus and negative night temperatures caused the snow cover to settle and freeze, which positively influenced the stability in the snow cover. During the day, due to the cloudy weather, no intensive melting of the snow cover is expected, while precipitation in the form of rain is expected in the afternoon, but only in moderate totals. Very strong winds may cause dangerous overhanging ridges.

Snowpack Structure

The snow cover is well set and stable, frozen in many places. A clear night will cause further freezing and settling of the snow cover, in the afternoon the rain will cause it to melt gently, which will freeze again as evening approaches.

Tendency

With the expected alternation of plus daytime and negative nighttime temperatures decreasing. Compiled by : Martin Buliak
