Avalanche Activity

The wind slabs of the last few days represent the main danger. The wind will be moderate to strong over a wide area. Slab avalanches are possible.

The wind will be moderate to strong. The fresh snow and the wind slabs to be found above all in gullies and bowls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain can be released, especially by large additional loads,. In all regions small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized avalanches are possible. In many places there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack remains subject to considerable local variations. The new snow is lying on a crust. As a consequence of the strong wind, the snow drift accumulations will increase in size during the next few days. On south facing slopes a little snow is lying.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will persist. In some localities in some localities up to 20 cm of snow will fall in the next few hours.
