Recent observations of remotely triggered avalanches highlight the possibility of triggering large avalanches. The most dangerous slopes face west to north through east and carry shallow trigger points like rock outcroppings, convex rolls, or steep panels of snow beneath cliff bands.
A marginal overnight freeze, blue skies, and warm temperatures increase the likelihood of wet snow avalanches. Avalanche danger will increase throughout the day due to rapid warming. Some wet avalanches may be larger than expected and release as a slab. Avoid this problem by starting and ending your day early and by moving to shady slopes when you start sinking into wet snow.
Recent strong winds also built large overhanging cornices along ridgelines. Give cornices a wide berth as they can break further back than you expect, and could collapse spontaneously from warming.
