Avalanche Summary

Wind-drifted slopes facing northeast to east to southeast are holding the most continuous snow cover and are also the most dangerous. Denser slabs rest above fragile weak layers near and above treeline on these aspects, and are prime places to trigger an avalanche. Sticking to lower-angle slopes and avoiding terrain below ridges or steep rollovers will help keep you safe.

Expect a rise in danger starting Tuesday as southwest winds crank up and snow returns to the state.
