Avalanche Summary

The easiest place to trigger a deadly slab avalanche is a steep easterly-facing slope where drifted snow accumulated below a ridgeline. South and west-facing slopes offer a firmer and safer snowpack. On northerly and easterly-facing terrain, choose slopes less than about 35 degrees.
