Avalanche Summary

You can trigger an avalanche on slopes facing northwest through north to east, where you find about a foot or more of new snow resting on either a thin, breakable crust or weak, cohesionless snow. Most of these avalanches will be small, but they can still drag you down a slope, so be aware of dangerous terrain traps, such as a creek or a cliff below you. Elsewhere, expect generally safe avalanche conditions.
