Avalanche Summary

Look for wind-drifted features on leeward slopes as prime places to trigger an avalanche. Westerly winds and ample snow have created thick slabs that could entrain enough snow to bury you or take you for a dangerous ride. Common places to find this problem are below ridges or the sides of cross-loaded gullies. To help reduce your risk, steer clear of wind-drifted slopes and stick to lower-angle terrain.
